Woodstock

Woodstock (population 41,000) , the largest City in Oxford County,  is known for its extensive downtown historic buildings. Museum Square is home to Theatre Woodstock and The Woodstock Museum, a National Historic Site, formerly the Woodstock Town Hall. Across the street you will find the Woodstock Art Gallery home to the largest collection of Florence Carlyle's work, a local artist who achieved international fame for her work.   Explore local history with several self-guided historical walking tours past majestic homes, the old gaol (jail) and County Courthouse (still in use today).

The downtown offers a thriving mix of iconic businesses serving customers for decades to new favourites including restaurants, entertainment, Canada's largest antique mall and plenty of specialty shops.  If you love food and drink be sure to visit local brewers, coffee roastery, bean to bar chocolatier, bakeries, restaurants and the Woodstock Farmers' Market. 

If you're feeling outdoorsy, Woodstock's Pittock Reservoir and extensive trail network is a popular destination for birders.  Historic Southside Park is known for its gardens and a great place to have a picnic.  Woodstock has plenty of festivals to pass the time from Cowapolooza and the Downtown BIA Summer Streetfest. With several top attractions, plenty of accommodations, dining and shopping it's an ideal spot for your next getaway.
