East Zorra-Tavistock
East-Zorra Tavistock (population 7000) is home to the communities of Tavistock, Hickson and Innerkip. This rural area (North of Woodstock and between Zorra and Blandford Blenheim Townships) has a thriving agricultural industry, so pack a cooler to bring local flavours home. Visitors also know East Zorra-Tavistock for outdoor activities, farm experiences and relaxation.
Visitors can unwind and reconnect at a Nordic Spa, at a campground, on the golf course, mingling with horses, on a trail, cycling, at a local restaurant or a brewery. Tavistock historically was settled by Mennonites from Germany and Scottish immigrants. This heritage is still present today at local butchers’ and on restaurant menus. Local events are also tied to this heritage including the Tavistock Fair, the Tavistock Men’s Sauerkraut Supper and World Crokinole Championship. Crokinole was invented just outside Tavistock. You can purchase locally made crokinole boards today. Come to sample local heritage, flavours and relax with stunning rural views.
