Classes at the 1909 Culinary Academy combine a hands-on cooking experience with delicious tasting experiences.

Locally produced bacon from Metzger Meats in Hensell is our favourite high quality bacon. Thick cuts made with natural spices make a difference.

What's on the menu? We'll start with Bacon Jam, a combination of bacon, onions, brown sugar, coffee, and balsamic all slowly simmered until it's thick like jam. What a way to elevate your everyday cheese and cracker combo.

Bacon Wrapped ... Pickles, Avocado, Water Chestnuts...almost anything wrapped in bacon makes for an exceptional appetizer or game day treat. Maple Bacon Carrots are sure to please as a side dish.

Bring along your reusable take out containers because there are often left overs after a class at the 1909.
