EMBRACE 3 CAN’ T MISS CUL INARY PARTNERSHIPS Dark Side of the Moo What sounds like the Dairy Capital’s ri on a Pink Floyd song is actually one cheese involving three local partnerships. Allow us to paint a picture: Habitual Chocolate sends their cacao nibs down the road to Upper Thames Brewing Co. where they’re used to create a chocolate stout. From there, the stout is sent to Gunn’s Hill Artisan Cheese where cheese wheels take a nice beer bath. The result? One rockin’cheese. Canadian Breakfast CindyWalker of Chocolatea always adds a little creativity to her chocolates. Setting this one apart? French toast covered in chocolate (made with local cream, of course) and topped with chipotle bacon candied in Jakeman’s maple syrup from down the road. SixThirtyNine Take Out Sammy We could go on and on about all the local ingredients that SixThirtyNine uses but one thing we love is their lunch time sandwiches! Made using our from Oak Manor, SixThirtyNine’s bread is made in house and their special changes on the regular, often featuring local cheese, meats, sh, produce and more! Pick-Your-Own Paradise Sure you’ve heard of picking your own berries or apples but how about veggies? At ames River Farms, they have over 15 acres of pick-your-own patches featuring everything from cauli ower and beans to okra, peas, leeks, berries, cucumbers and beets. You can even grab a pitch fork and dig up your own potatoes! How’s that for farm fresh? Every Saturday throughout the summer, head to Berrylicious Fruit Farm where you can pick your own blueberries when in season plus check out their elderberries, raspberries and preserves too! After all of that, settle in for a delicious homemade jelly roll made on site with the farm’s blueberries and take in the peaceful nature of this fruit farm. Rock n’ Jelly Roll 18
