Located on Highway 19 the village of Embro is nestled in the rolling hills of Zorra Township. People come to Embro throughout the year for events, theatre, sports and heritage. The small downtown is home to a restaurant, butcher (known for their bacon and sausage), grocery store, LCBO, and gas bar.
Just north of Embro on Rd 84 you will find the Embro Pond and Day Use Conservation Area which is a popular destination for hikers and birders. It is a great place for a family picnic and hike.
Embro is home to several large festivals and events including the oldest Highland Games in Ontario (Embro Highland Games, July 1st). It also hosts Wienerfest Home County Festival, the Embro Tractor Pull and the Embro Fair. The community also has a reputation for theatre. The Thistle Theatre regularly 2 productions each year. If you are coming for theatre or a special event, you can always make a night of it as there are Bed & Breakfasts and Campgrounds in the area.
