Woodstock

Woodstock (population 41,000) is the largest city in Oxford County and is home to several top attractions.  Historic Museum Square is home to Theatre Woodstock and The Woodstock Museum (formerly the Woodstock Town Hall and a National Historic Site).  A historic walk offers the perfect view of the city from the downtown to the tree-lined Vansittart Ave and County Square with the old jail and County Courthouse (still in use today).

Those with a culinary desire will enjoy several delicious restaurants in town offering local menu items as well as two farmers markets and a bean to bar chocolatier at Habitual Chocolate.  Woodstock is also home to Oxford's first brewery, Upper Thames Brewing Company and a stunning three-floor art gallery where one can enjoy classes, exhibits and a unique gift shop.

If you're feeling outdoorsy, Woodstock's Pittock Resevoir and extensive trail network is a popular desitnation for birders.  Southside Park is home to a beautiful garden, local food stand in the summer and is the ideal spot for a picnic on a warm day.  Woodstock has plenty of quirky festivals to pass the time from Cowapolooza and Dairy Capital Cheese Fest to The Downtown BIA Summer Streetfest.  With plenty of choices for accommodations, it's an ideal spot for your next getaway.
